I have worked within the education system – both FE and HE – for over 22 years and have extensive knowledge of the opportunities and challenges facing colleges, the funding rules governing them and the agencies operating them.
Over many years, I have helped my old college build a reputation for developing and working with varied partners within and without the sector and have worked with many employers both large and small.
I am recently 'retired', but have worked on various projects for external clients, and am always interested in short-term project and consultancy work. I am the chair of the board of governors at Kidderminster College, and also a board member of the local Training Provider Association, working to develop a collaborative, supportive and innovative range of services and offers in conjunction with other stakeholders.
I started and ran a small retail business based in Worcester some years ago, specialising in science fiction memorabilia, and remain a dedicated fan (especially of Doctor Who and Star Trek!) I have an extensive and eclectic library of books and interests, including 3D printing (I own a Bambu X2D) and scale model building (slowly...)
I have a long-standing interest in computers and associated tech', with a particular emphasis on the Apple ecosystem; I have and still do use Windows (with a smattering of Linux lurking in the background), but not my first choice 😎 You'll see what I currently own and use on my Tech page.
